Question # 2

2) What is your earliest memory?

I can remember sitting on the stone steps of our farmhouse in Quebec, all by myself. I must have been 3 years old. I remember thinking “I’m going to think back to this moment when I’m older”. I visited the farm two years ago in September on my cross country trip with Louise. It was the first time I had been back since we left in 1980. How incredible to stand in that very same spot, more than 25 years later. I have remembered that moment, and the most vivid connection I made to it was when I was a teenager, taking a personal growth seminar. They also asked this question as part of an exercise we were doing. We were to visualize that little person, and then going up to them and giving them a big hug. I think it was the first time I realized that I have that little Sassy Girl living inside of me, and that I need to take extra special care of her!

First memory: Driving home in the back of a car with a white dog beside me in a box. My parents say there's no way I should remember that. I was one year old or something.

My first memory is when I was about 1 or so years old, I'm not sure, but it was when my birthday was on Easter. I got this big-ass stuffed bunny. I remember there was a huge dinner party and we all watched "The Wizard of Oz" on T.V.

It's hard to put a description to my EARLIEST memories, since they are very jumbled and mixed with a strange "what am I??" sort of vibe. But in my earliest clear memory, I'm in a stroller in Vancouver, I think near Stanley Park, CLEARLY wearng white baby shoes, we're on a paved path and my mum and dad are pointing out just about everything that moves to me. They of course don't believe that I remember this. I also remember being having a rainbow pointed out to me. My parents had a blue VW Bug and my mother says to me, "That's impossible. We sold it right before you turned two!" But I remember it clear as a bell. My dad was convinced when I told him about the driveway we were parked in. "That must have been when we were visiting the Bells," he said. LOL
